Pattern has added promoting in ChatGPT to its campaign management platform, allowing brand partners to run campaigns on the AI service alongside activity on other digital channels.

The ecommerce technology company said the combination extends its promoting tools beyond online marketplaces and platforms including Google, Meta, Snap, and TikTok. ChatGPT shall be added to the identical system used to activate, manage, and measure campaigns across those channels.

The integration builds on Pattern’s acquisition of ROI Hunter, which provides product-level promoting and performance measurement tools. Pattern said the combined platform will give advertisers one interface for managing campaigns across search, social media, ecommerce marketplaces, and ChatGPT.

ChatGPT joins cross-channel workflows

OpenAI’s promoting system includes several controls already used across digital media platforms. Advertisers can manage campaign budgets, bids, creative assets, product feeds, conversion settings, and performance reporting through Ads Manager or OpenAI’s promoting API.

OpenAI supports cost-per-thousand-impressions and cost-per-click buying. Its promoting API also supports conversion-optimised bidding for accounts with access to that capability.

Advertisers can set campaign schedules, day by day or total budgets, and maximum bids on the ad-group level. Pattern’s integration will make those controls available throughout the wider paid-media workflow used for campaigns on the opposite platforms it supports.

Brands will have the option to manage ChatGPT campaign inputs through Pattern slightly than operating entirely through a separate OpenAI interface. OpenAI’s API allows approved technology partners to configure campaigns and measurement tools for client accounts.

Pattern said its promoting platform draws on greater than 77 trillion ecommerce data points covering products, categories, and shopper behaviour. According to the corporate, the information provides details about product discovery and buying activity across marketplaces, social platforms, and AI services.

Product and catalogue information will support feed-based ChatGPT campaigns. OpenAI allows advertisers to connect merchant catalogues containing product titles, descriptions, prices, availability, images, and destination URLs.

OpenAI can use that information to create advertisements for eligible catalogue items without requiring a separate ad for every product. Advertisers may also organise catalogue items into sets covering chosen brands, categories, or product groups.

Pattern will provide catalogue preparation and feed management through its platform. Up-to-date catalogue information is required because prices, availability, images, and destination links could be drawn from a merchant feed when an commercial is created.

OpenAI’s promoting API supports product-level reporting for catalogue campaigns, including delivery data for individual items. This allows advertisers to assess results below the general campaign level, although Pattern has not explained how product-level reports shall be displayed inside its platform.

OpenAI controls ad delivery

Pattern can manage campaign settings, but OpenAI retains control over ad selection and delivery. Pattern can configure budgets, bids, creative assets, product feeds, campaign status, and conversion settings, while OpenAI determines which eligible commercial is displayed.

OpenAI considers the context and intent of the present conversation alongside information supplied by the advertiser. The inputs can include ad copy, landing-page content, product information, and contextual guidance submitted on the ad-group level.

Advertisers can provide context hints describing topics, keywords, or forms of conversations relevant to a proposal. OpenAI says these context hints will not be exact-match keywords and don’t guarantee delivery in a particular conversation.

Advertisers do indirectly select individual conversations for placement. OpenAI uses its relevance and auction systems to select amongst advertisements that meet its eligibility and review requirements.

OpenAI says advertisements appear individually from ChatGPT’s responses and don’t influence the answers generated by the service. Advertisers will not be given access to users’ conversations, chat histories, memories, or personal details.

Pattern can be introducing automated campaign execution across its existing promoting workflows. The company said AI agents will have the option to perform chosen campaign actions throughout the platform.

The capability is predicated on Pattern Intelligence, or Pi, an ecommerce execution system launched in May 2026. Pi was already available through the ChatGPT app directory before the promoting integration, establishing an existing technical connection between Pattern and OpenAI.

Campaign performance could be measured through OpenAI’s Ads Manager and promoting API. Available measures include impressions, clicks, spending, click-through rates, average costs, and attributed conversions.

Reporting is on the market at campaign, ad-group, commercial, and product levels. OpenAI’s API also supports reporting segmented by product, country, and device.

Advertisers can measure chosen actions, including purchases, leads, and registrations, through OpenAI’s conversion tools. They may also add tracking parameters to destination links and assess ChatGPT traffic through their existing analytics systems.

Pattern said it’s going to use cross-channel conversion data to support campaign management across the services covered by its platform. It has not disclosed how ChatGPT campaign results shall be presented alongside data from Google, Meta, Snap, TikTok, and ecommerce marketplaces.

Dave Wright, Pattern’s co-founder and chief executive, said the combination would extend the corporate’s promoting tools to one other platform used for product discovery.

“The brands that win show up where their customers are and know what converts on each platform,” Wright said.

Pattern has not named the primary brands using the combination or released campaign performance data.
