Martha Stewart is an underutilized intern in new Fiverr campaign

  • Martha Stewart takes center stage in a new campaign underscoring the worth of freelancers from Fiverr, in line with information shared with Marketing Dive.
  • The campaign is set to air across television and digital channels in August, with Stewart acting as each a brand ambassador and mentor to freelancers. 
  • The multifaceted campaign is meant to showcase the array of talent available on the freelance services marketplace, including specialists on social media marketing, web development and artificial intelligence (AI).

With a growing demand for specialised skills, Fiverr is hoping a well-recognized face will remind employers to search for talent in unusual places. The ad campaign has Stewart delegated to the role of an intern, delivering coffee to colleagues who’re clueless about her talents.

“Martha Stewart is a business mogul and recognized everywhere in the world for her media empire,” said Fiverr CMO Matti Yahav in a press release. “In today’s world of multifaceted businesses and complicated projects, we’re seeing that many teams, including Martha’s, are making smart and efficient decisions to seek out new skills outside of their business through leveraging freelancers.”

In addition to appearing in videos, Stewart will even serve because the brand ambassador to the 2024 Summer Product Launch, where she is going to showcase her skills as a Limited Edition Pro freelancer. The campaign is meant to point out what tasks Stewart delegates to freelancers together with what skills are seeing a surge in interest on the platform. Interest in AI has seen as much as 6,000% growth on the platform, per Fiverr’s Business Trends Index.

As a part of the campaign, three users will receive a thirty-minute consultation from Stewart, together with a $1,000 Fiverr giftcard to grow their business. Applications for the consultation took place from July 25 to Aug. 6, with consultations set to happen at the top of the month.

Martha Stewart has long been a go-to for marketers seeking to capture the eye of a various audience. Often appearing beside Snoop Dogg, Stewart has partnered with BIC, entered the metaverse with Oreo and argued against DIY with Pure Leaf.
